My husband has begun snoring I cant sleep what can I do?

We have been married for 4 years and he has only just now begun to snore. He has been waking me up every night for a month. It is driving me crazy. It sounds like he his chocking in his sleep when I roll over to see if hes ok he snorts and snores. Is there something that can be done to stop snoring or do I need to sleep in a separate room?
